April Happenings
Happy Earth Day!
Hello friends!
We hope the start of this month has been calming and joyful for you. Spring is that wonderful time where the birds call out to each other, the trees blossom, flowers bloom, and the sky stays a bit brighter just a bit later. So make sure you take a step outside and enjoy!
April also marks Earth Day!! On April 22nd, this lovely worldwide event will celebrate this beautiful planet we call home, and what we can do to help our environment.
Here are some tips that we can practice on Earth Day and every day:
Recycle. (this one is always on a list, but that’s because it’s IMPORTANT.)
Take shorter showers.
Don’t buy plastic water bottles, find a reusable water bottle. (Put stickers on it, or something fun!)
Don’t buy disposable bags at the grocery store, bring along reusable grocery bags. (Find some cute ones and it’ll make shopping more enjoyable I swear.)
Use LED light bulbs in your home.
Thrift instead of fast fashion!! (WE LOVE THRIFTING.)
Use public transportation, if possible, over driving.
Unplug chargers when they are not in use. It might be surprising to learn that chargers still use power even if a device is not plugged in, but as long as a charger is plugged into the wall, it’s consuming energy!
Hang dry laundry in the summer or on hot days!
Try one day a week avoiding red meat.
Try taking care of a plant. Plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen, so they’re very beneficial for our atmosphere, and it’s always good to have them around! Try one, try two, plant a small garden, if you can! :)
Upcoming Events!
